About AOPA:

With a membership base of more than 400,000, more than half of all pilots in the United States, AOPA is the largest, most influential aviation association in the world. AOPA has achieved its prominent position through effective advocacy, enlightened leadership, technical competence, and hard work.

Providing member services that range from representation at the federal, state, and local levels to legal services, advice, and other assistance, AOPA has built a service organization that far exceeds any other in the aviation community.

AOPA's Commitment to Aviation Education:

AOPA takes pride in its effort to teach young people about aviation. Our resources are available at no cost to educators and AOPA members, because AOPA believes that aviation is a valuable teaching tool that can motivate students. Aviation education programs teach educators, students, and parents about the positive contributions general aviation makes to American life.

The PATH Program:

AOPA wants to provide a link between educators and the aviation community. By studying aviation, young people can learn that what they're studying today has an exciting application in real life.

Pilots can share aviation education materials and activities, and serve as expert resources for teachers and students.

PATH to Aviation helps AOPA members and all pilots share their aviation experience and knowledge with students.   The PATH booklet also contains modules to help teachers introduce aviation into the classroom.  AOPA firmly believes that the introduction of  aviation to young people, pilots and teachers can spark students' interest in math, science, and other subjects.
