NCAE ANNOUNCES WINNER OF STRICKLER AVIATION EDUCATION LEADERSHIP AWARD
Washington, DC March 18,2002 – the National Coalition for Aviation Education (NCAE) has selected Dr. Jane A. Hodges as the recipient of the 2002 Dr. Mervin K. Strickler, Jr., Aviation Education Leadership Award.
NCAE selected Dr. Hodges for her outstanding career that has spanned over three decades of excellence in aerospace education on numerous levels. A notable writer of aerospace education teacher and parent activity books, Hodges has taught aerospace education from kindergarten through university level. She recently was an Educator for Africa, sponsored by International Foundation for Education and Self-help and Shell Petroleum Development Company International, introducing teachers and high school students’ space science and technology in Niger Delta of West Africa. She has supported aerospace programs in the Mid East, Africa, Latin America, Australia, and Europe.
Dr. Hodges serves as president of her business, Edicsto Press International Publishing and Consulting. Through her works Jane Hodges demonstrates the international commonality we have in science, math, and technology. She has received numerous honors and service awards including the USAF/CAP Crown Circle Award for Aerospace Leadership.
Dr. Strickler along with NCAE representatives will present the award to Dr. Hodges at the General Assembly of the 35th annual National Congress on Aviation Space Education in Arlington Virginia, on April 5th. The annual award was established by NCAE in 1995. It was named in honor of Dr. Strickler to pay tribute to his 50 years of contributions to aviation education.
